Sea Horse in a Shadowbox

$75.00

Fangs, shells, small bones, claws, or feathers can be used for protection, luck, for shamanic practice, or in order to draw from the qualities and abilities of the spirit animals that inhabit them. For example, a crow feather or claw may help balance your life and enforce your quest for knowledge of the greater mysteries, or fox fangs or bones may help you attain the wits you’d need in order to sail through a difficult situation. Likewise, they can be used during shamanic work for protection and guidance when traveling between worlds.

The Seahorse

The hippocampus, a legendary creature through the ages. It tells the tales of sea magic, from its association with mermaids and sirens, to drawing the chariots of sea goddesses and created by Poseidon himself.

Though not associated with traditional witchcraft, the sea horse has been used in the Adriatic forms; most often worn to protect from the evil eye or placed upon walls to being good luck and protection, similar to the use of the horseshoe.

Seahorses represent uniqueness, love, good luck, rooting/anchoring, and determination. Because of the uniqueness in not only their appearance but also in the way they procreate, seahorses represent uniqueness and can bring out the uniqueness in you. They can also symbolize role reversal and overall acceptance of that reversal being that it is the males who take on the rearing of the eggs. They are monogamous, and sea horse couples rely on each other, which represents the love the seahorses bring about.

They anchor themselves to plants like grasses and can be helpful with rooting/anchoring, balance, and reciprocity. Because these little creatures have small fins, they can easily tire and die from exhaustion, but they keep going, representing determination and endurance.

In our shop, we offer the follow items to aid in honing your craft and building your sacred spaces:
